Melbourne tattoo shops firebombed as tensions between bikie gangs grow, police say

Several tattoo parlours have been firebombed in Victoria and police urged to exercise “extreme caution” as tensions escalate between the Rebels, Comancheros and Finks motorcycle gangs.

Taskforce Echo and regional detectives are investigating a series of fires in and around Melbourne which have known links to outlaw motorcycle gangs.

A number of businesses have been firebombed over the past fortnight.

Police said they were aware of escalating tensions between the three groups and had ordered an increase in monitoring of three groups.

“We have issued a reminder to our members to exercise caution when coming into contact with OMCG [outlaw motorcycle gang] members during the course of their duties,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“As the investigations are active and ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

The email distributed to all members of Victoria Police and seen by the ABC, advised all officers to exercise “extreme” caution following the fire bombings, and also referred to a serious assault.

“The fire-bombings and a serious assault indicate escalating tension between the Rebels and the Commanchero/Finks OMCGs,” the email read.

“All police officers should exercise extreme caution when patrolling near tattoo parlours, particularly those with known links to OMCGs.

“Police officers should also exercise caution in areas known to be frequented by OMCGs, especially club houses and entertainment precincts.”

Officers were also asked to consider calling for back up when intercepting vehicles associated with he gangs.

The Victorian Opposition accused the State Government of ignoring the signs of an emerging bikie war in Melbourne.

Shadow Attorney General John Pesutto said there has been evidence of increasing bikie activity for months.

“We haven’t heard anything from Daniel Andrews or his government on this – what they are doing to work with our law enforcement agencies to make sure they have all the resources they need and also to assure the community that the government is in control.”

MMOsite Exclusive Interview with Piercing Blow Dev.Team

Piercing Blow is an online FPS game with fast-paced action, thrilling shooting effects, and quicker response times. If you are looking for an exciting shooter, Piercing Blow must be a great choice. It’s still in the tournament phase, The 1st Piercing Blow Special-division League. MMOsite is honored to have an interview with the dev. team of Piercing Blow. Check out the details of the interview below:

Q: Thank you for taking the time for this interview, would you like to introduce yourself and online FPS Piercing Blow to our MMOsiters?

A: Hello, all MMOsiters! This is GM_Tarantula of Piercing Blow. Some of you PB fans might have already seen me at least once in-game. Well first of all, Piercing Blow is a fast paced online FPS game with tons of selection on items, modes and maps. And of course, all these features are always in-development and updated on a regular basis.

Q: Piercing Blow has seven game modes, Escape, Custom, Deathmatch, Demolition, Sabotage, Search & Destroy and AI Challenge. Which mode is the most popular among players?

A: Just like all other FPS games, Piercing Blow fans also prefer Deathmatch and Demolition modes the most. Our players often choose custom modes with restrictions on selecting weapons, and compete their skills with other players’ best weapons.

Q: What’s the highlight for each game mode? And how long will each round normally last?

A: The round times can differ depending on the players and all modes are up to players, but as I’ve mentioned before, Piercing Blow‘s battles are very fast paced and the average round lasts comparably short. You can easily find rooms with the maximum round settings (9 rounds) which would normally take about 20 minutes to finish.

Q: Which one shown above is the solo mode? Do you think solo mode is important in this FPS?

A: The AI Challenge mode is the solo-playing mode. As Piercing Blow is an online-based game, new players might find it hard to join a match playing with other players or find similar level players. In these cases, the solo play modes can help players improve their skills to get ready to battle with other players.

Q: Eight characters look very powerful, do all the characters have the balanced capability to fight solo or play in groups?

A: The abilities and capabilities of all the characters are balanced, instead players can choose from Specialty selection; Assault, SMG, Sniper, Shot Gun and Machine gun. Each specialty has different skills which you can acquire by joining battles and gaining experiences. By enhancing your skill level, you can derive your own tactics and playstyles.

Q: Players must be happy to know you have released new weapons on May 6th. How do weapons, armors and other items function within Piercing Blow? How are they obtained, and are there rare or unique ones? Are many bound to the specified character?

A: We prepare updates on weapon updates very regularly. These weapons have different features and extensions of their own, and some examples can be:

  • 1) Dual magazine: Special weapons with double ammo, which can easily be switched with the right-click button.

  • 2) Laser sight: Assists you on detailed aiming.

  • 3) Dot-sight: Scope attachment for focused aiming.

  • 4) Dual weapon: Special series of weapons that you can carry one on each hand.

  • Besides the above, there are tons more selections of weapons. Try out yourself right now!

Q: There are a lot of online shooters on the market right now. What makes Piercing Blow different from others?

A: Well, we have the special ‘Escape’ mode, which you can select to be a predator (Dinosaurs), or human running from the predator. Other than that, the weapon extension system I mentioned is also fascinating. And in Piercing Blow, you can customize your character as you wish with the Parts and Skins while increasing the abilities as well.

Q: Online tournament looks pretty eye-catching, undoubtedly, it works great to keep veteran players. Along with these events, are you looking for more ways that can attract new player and retain old players?

A: We have planned and started a new league PBSL (Piercing Blow Special-division League), which has restrictions on weapons, or modes. This will prevent unbalance and randomize the players’ main skills and make it more competing for all Piercing Blow fans. Moreover, we are continuously planning on uncountable events.

Q: Would you mind to share more of your plans about the Piercing Blow, such as the new gameplay, new mode?

A: Of course. Piercing Blow will be updated with new modes to offer more elements to our players.  Our monthly online league and tournaments would be the best stage to enhance your skills to get the ticket to the annual global e-sports tournament PBIC (Piercing Blow International Championship). We will be hosting a National Team Selection for PBIC that I strongly recommend to take this chance to become a representative of your country as an e-sports athlete!

Q: We’re really glad to have this interview! Do you have anything else we didn’t cover in this interview that you want to share with MMOsiters? And thanks for your time!

A: Thank you so much for the opportunity to meet MMOsiters. Once you experience playing Piercing Blow you will definitely know the joy of playing Piercing Blow. Come by and check out our latest updates and events, and be the best shooter on any stage! Have fun playing free Piercing Blow at: http://us.fps-pb.com and invite friends to play together.

Man wanted regrets tattoo of his daughter (who also hates it now she's a teen)

  • Malcolm, 40, wanted his little girl’s portrait tattooed on his leg

  • But result was a caricature that looked nothing like her

  • Ten years on, both he and his daughter hate the tattoo

Lucy Waterlow for MailOnline

While the majority of fathers are happy to carry a picture of their child around in their wallet, one man from Derby decided to go one step further – with disastrous results.

Security guard Malcolm, 40, had hoped to have a perfect picture of his daughter Sophie tattooed onto his leg.

But the result was far from what he hoped for, with the tattooist leaving him with an image that looked ‘more like Queen Elizabeth than my baby girl’.

‘I wanted something beautiful on me, a portrait of Sophie to remind me of her and what she looked like,’ explains the father-of-two.

‘I had been to the tattooist before so I was confident he would do a good job.’

But instead, the tattooist drew ‘freehand’ on his leg and the results bore little resemblance to the photo of Sophie he was shown.

Despite his reservations, Malcolm didn’t interrupt as he trusted the tattoo as an ‘artist’ and thought he would be happy with the end result.

‘The end tattoo looks nothing like Sophie,’ says Malcolm, who appears on tonight’s episode of Tattoo Disasters UK on Spike.

‘I don’t cherish the tattoo, I hate it. It’s more like a picture of Queen Elizabeth than my baby girl.’

A decade on and Malcolm says he still regrets the tattoo – as does his daughter.

‘It looks nothing like me, it’s horrible. I’m ashamed to say that’s me on his leg,’ said Sophie, who is now a teenager. ‘It’s embarrassing when he puts shorts on.’

Her younger sister Madison adds: ‘It looks like an alien.’

Malcolm has now visited celebrity tattooist Kevin Paul – whose clients include Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran  – to have the offending inking covered up.

No wonder tattoos and piercings are in fashion

Last year, Rebecca’s husband Nick was hit by a car and seriously injured. Here, in one of a series of columns, she writes about the aftermath of his accident

Despite having a tattoo when he was getting on for 40, Nick was always terrified that his mum would find out. Whenever we stayed at his parents, he’d be extra paranoid about her spotting it, and if I showed his folks any holiday photos, he’d sit twitching, in case one of them revealed the design that he’d had inked on the small of his back. As it turned out, when I blabbed to his mum about the tattoo, she didn’t give a damn, but then that’s probably because I told her when he was speared with tubes in intensive care and I figured he’d be safe from her wrath.

I hope that she shows similar sang froid when she comes to visit him this week and spots his latest bit of body modification – a nose piercing. Given that he’s also desperate for more tattoos, I reckon a nose stud is pretty innocuous, both because it can be kept clean more easily than a tat, and because it can be taken out if he decides he doesn’t want it any more. I don’t think he will take it out, though, because he likes it, and it’s part of a wider interest in how he looks, and the power he has to change that.

It reminds me of being a teenager, when everything was so UNFAIR and I wasn’t allowed to do ANYTHING. The only thing that I that felt I had any autonomy over was my body, so I had it pierced as often as possible, regularly changed my hair colour (wrecking my parents’ towels in the process, soz Dad) and had my first tattoo. Nick, as he reminds me tearfully whenever I tell him off for shouting at his carers, can’t go anywhere or do anything. He can’t even wipe his own bottom. So no wonder he’s keen to have control over his image.

It began last summer when his personality finally started to flicker back, in between the shouting and swearing. I’d bought him a Coca-Cola T-shirt I thought he’d like, but as soon as he could talk again, he took a great dislike to it, banishing it from his hospital room. Since then, he’s taken more interest in his hair, not least the fact that it’s turned so dark after more than a year spent mainly indoors. He now has monthly trims, and I’ve been instructed to lighten it with the modern, posher version of Sun-In to bring him back to blond.

He now wears one of my silver rings, having coveted it for months, which on him looks like a knuckle-duster. I was also ordered to paint his toenails black, so his carers either cackle when they see his feet, or, in the case of cool cat Carmelo, say that Nick reminds them of The Cramps’ Lux Interior. This weekend I painted the nails on the hand that I can get to white, and as soon as I finish typing, I’ve been told I need to do another coat.

I love his reason for the return to the goth look that he left behind decades ago. “You only live once,” he told me the other day. So if his mother gives us any grief about his nose (or nails), we can reply with exactly what teenagers today say to their parents about similar bodily rebellions: YOLO, mum.
