LONDON — Katie Price says she doesn’t need to justify piercing 18-month-old daughter Bunny’s ears.
The 37-year-old English television personality defended her choice on Tuesday’s episode of ITV talk show Loose Women after facing heavy backlash for the decision.
“What about kids who get circumcised They don’t have a choice,” Price said in response to critics claiming Bunny didn’t have a choice. “[My husband] Kieran’s half Spanish and it’s their tradition … What can I say, she’s had it done and she looks beautiful with it.”
Price had shared photos of Bunny with the piercing on Instagram over the weekend. The television personality complained Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian and Angelina Jolie also pierced their daughters’ ears but did not face criticism.
Price is mom to Bunny and 2-year-old son Jett with husband Kieran Hayler, whom she married in 2013. She also shares 13-year-old son Harvey with Dwight Yorke, and 10-year-old son Junior and 8-year-old daughter Princess with first husband Peter Andre.
“He makes me laugh, I love him so much, he does on me,” the star said of Harvey, who has Prader-Willi syndrome, on This Morning in October. “Of all my kids, everyone tells me Harvey is their favorite because he is so funny and his personality has to come out … He is hard work but I wouldn’t change him for anything.”
Price came to fame as a glamour model before appearing on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and a series of Channel 4 documentaries about her personal life. She competed on and won Celebrity Big Brother Season 15 in February. Annie Martin
